The Story of this Armor
Spine Chevron
The stacked line of lineage
The stacked spearheads of the spine — the lineage you carry on your back. Vented mesh through the ribs.
The Legend
Struck down the centre of the back, one chevron laid over the last, the spine mark counted the generations standing behind the wearer. Each stroke was a name. The artist worked from the nape downward so the oldest ancestors sat closest to the head, and the living carried the weight of all of them upright.
Every mark carried on this garment is drawn from the sacred tatau of the Ali'i Nui — struck by hand before it is ever printed on cloth. What was once worn in the skin is now worn into competition: the same protection, the same lineage, carried by a new generation of warriors.
Nothing here is decoration. The motif is a covenant — you are not buying a pattern, you are accepting stewardship of a story that refused to be erased.

Spine Chevron
- Grit
- Unity
- Wear it for
- Wear it on the long days. Each chevron is a generation stacked behind you, so the work is shared — for endurance sessions, for the fourth quarter, for the season that stops being fun.
- How it is placed
- Struck down the centre of the back from the nape, oldest mark highest, so the wearer stands upright under the whole line.
- What it was struck for
Grit — Marks earned slowly. Every stroke was a sitting endured; the pattern is a record of what the wearer kept showing up for.
Unity — Marks that only make sense with others in them — family, crew, team. Worn so no one carries the weight of a season alone.
